Registration

We are accepting registrations for:

- current 2025-26 school year

- next 2026-27 school year (opens Monday, January 26)

Using our online registration form, parents/guardians can register their child for:

- - English instruction, at their catchment school
  - French Immersion (Gr. K-7) instruction
    **Please DO NOT submit a transfer request!

Please ensure you have digital copies of the following documents, before starting your registration:

- - Proof of student's date of birth
    (birth certificate, passport, permanent residence card, Canadian adoption order - *BC services cards are not acceptable documents for proof of age)
  - Proof of local address
    (government-issued ID, rental agreement, utility bill, proof of home purchase, mortgage statement, notice of assessment - documentation must be current, showing the address as listed on the school registration and a parent/guardian name)
  - Legal documents, if applicable
  - Immigration documents, if applicable

If technology is a barrier and you require the use of an KCSD computer, we invite you to make an appointment at one of our campuses. Alternatively, our local library has technology available for public use.

Registration FAQ

How do I know if my child's registration was received?

I'd like my child to attend an out-of-catchment school. What do I need to do?

You must register at your catchment school, first.

After submitting your child's registration, you may request a transfer to an out-of-catchment school by submitting a Student Transfer Request.

Transfer requests for the next school year:

Families who request a transfer between January 1 and February 28 will receive notification in late spring, in time for September.
Families who request a transfer after February 28 will receive notification in September.

Who do I contact if I have questions about a transfer request?

My child is currently in grade 7 and will be going to SHSS next year. Do I need to submit a registration or transfer request?

Kindergarten Specific FAQ

When does Kindergarten registration open?

My friend received a confirmation email that their child's registration has been processed. Why haven't I?

Registrations are processed in the order they are received. Clerical staff will complete registration processing as time allows, alongside their current-year responsibilities. Please note that processing times may vary between schools.

Additionally, processing may take longer if your child is or was enrolled in a StrongStart program, as extra steps are required before the registration can be processed.

Can we have a tour of the school and/or meet the teacher?

I registered my child for the French Immersion program. How do I know they were accepted into the program?

I submitted a transfer request, so my child could attend an out-of-catchment school. When will I hear about my request?

Enrolment numbers for in‑catchment students at each school are reviewed in late spring. Once all catchment students have been accommodated, transfer applications will be considered according to the Student Enrolment priorities.

Families who request a transfer before February 28 will receive notification in late spring.
Families who request a transfer after February 28 will receive notification in September.
